Creative Workshops
Arts in the Marches Creative Workshops provide an opportunity to learn a new skill or brush up on an existing skill, and to make friends. Workshops are small to ensure everyone gets the help and advice they need. All workshops usually include homemade refreshments and light lunch. However during the time of Covid we are following social distancing guidelines and everyone brings their own refreshments.

Stone Carving Workshops

Arts in the Marches runs monthly stone carving workshops for beginners and experienced carvers. Led by Glenn Morris, multi media sculptor and stone mason, in our studio in Llangarron. Students work on their own projects, at their own pace, with expert support and guidance from Glenn.  A small informal group, we enjoy ourselves and are always happy to welcome new members.

Sculpture Garden

In September 2014 Arts in the Marches opened as a sculpture garden during h.Art week - the week when artists and craft makers in Herefordshire open their studios and is usually held in the second week of September each year. This was so successful we did it again in 2015, when we also ran an exhibition for our local Hospice.  In both years we had a fantastic week welcoming over 800 visitors and sold many pieces.  We couldn't have done it without the enormous help and support of friends and neighbours. We have added photographs of these exhibitions and a selection of the artwork below.  We really enjoyed participating in h.Art and hope to again in the near future.

The Garden

26 years ago we bought a house with a garden which was mainly field with the odd (very odd!) shrub and tree. We have developed our gardening ideas and ambitions over our time here, and are currently working hard to landscape and generally improve the design of unloved corners and tidy up overgrown areas. Arts in the Marches is a domestic garden, combining formal beds and lawns with wildlife ponds, fruit, vegetables, bees and chickens – providing what we hope is a pleasant setting for some interesting and stunning sculptures.
